Our design studio is expanding and we have two new openings for a Graphic Designer and a Graphic/Web Designer.

Paper is our passion here in Garlanna, and we are looking for candidates who are paper and card mad just like us. If this sounds like you, then we’d love to hear from you.

Graphic Designer
The role of the Graphic Designer will involve a mix of creating greeting card designs from scratch – from concept through to production and also amending and updating existing designs.

We’re looking for someone who has their finger on the design pulse, and can spot emerging trends, popular palettes and create unique and innovative designs. A love of colour, pattern and typography is of huge importance. Excellent Mac skills and proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop are a must. The candidate we are looking for will also have strong writing skills and pay close attention to details both big and small! Practical knowledge of print production, paper and boards, finishing techniques and proofing are all required.

We are looking for a designer with 3 years + experience. Salary will depend on your experience. Applications via e-mail only, to laura@garlanna.com, with CV and a link to your portfolio or attach a PDF. This is a full time role in our head office in Rathnew, Co. Wicklow.

Garlanna greeting cards

Wahoo, we’re famous! Did you see the article featuring Garlanna in the Sunday Independent this weekend?!

We had the pleasure of meeting Sean Gallagher recently when he paid us a visit to find out all about Garlanna. We gave him the grand tour of our head office, warehouse and our design studio. By the time his visit was ending, Sean was very well versed in the wonderful world of greeting cards.

If you missed the article, you can read all about Selling hugs in an envelope here. Enjoy!

An easy New Year’s Resolution to keep

Posted on

2016 is well underway, and many of you will have made your New Year’s Resolutions already. Maybe you have even fallen off the wagon and broken them, and are trying to hop back on and give them another go…

The problem with New Year’s Resolutions is that we make way too many of them and they can be really difficult to achieve.

“I’m going to eat really healthily and exercise for an hour EVERY day without fail.”

“I’m going to lose ten stone.”

“I’m never going to drink, eat chocolate, or anything fatty EVER again!”

“I’m going to be a much better person.”

These are all great goals but they are a little too extreme and difficult to stick to.

This year why not try making one small change? Just reach out and connect more with the world.

Say hello to your Neighbour in the morning on your way to work. Thank the bus driver before hopping off. Make chit chat with a stranger and most importantly keep in touch with your nearest and dearest.

Don’t just rely on technology, really make an effort and put pen to paper. Tell them how much they mean to you and send a card just to say hello. Smiles are contagious and we can all make the world just that little bit happier, one hello at a time.

Whatever your resolutions we wish you good luck and hope that 2016 is a great year!
